The Full Story

About

Cox Customs Motorcycle Cafe is a family owned business run by Toby and Christina and was established in 2024 as a means of creating a welcoming, energetic and knowledgeable store for enduro, moto and all dirtbike enthusiasts. Our goal is to create and build custom motorbikes, assist with parts for dirtbikes, to inspire a sense of creativity and entrepreneurship, and be more than your average motor bike parts, service and sales store. We provide an artisan coffee service using Boston Beans whilst you wait or enjoy in our seating area or takeaway. Each of our staff members is a motorbike lover with years of experience, who are able to offer you the best advice regarding your repair or restoration. Stop by our store today and talk with our friendly staff to learn more about what we can offer you.

Background

Toby has been involved with bikes and motorbikes since he was a child. Born in the era when one had to repair whatever they had, Toby became very skilled at fixing bikes. After years of downhill mountainbike racing which culminated in representing SA at the National Championships, Toby returned to riding motorbikes as they drove a lot faster with less chance of injury. Putting his motorbike skills to good use, Toby became a RiderSafe Instructor. This helped hone his skills in teaching the right techniques depending on rider skill level. This dovetailed into Toby's career as a secondary school teacher, making the transition to bike shop owner a natural occurance.

Vision

The idea of creating a venue which combines motorbikes and coffee was planned for a few years before coming to fruition with Cox Customs Motorcycle Cafe. We wish to create a relaxed, entertaining experience for customers who are looking for a destination from which to meet and embark on a dirt bike ride to the Flinders Ranges, facilitating customers to make strong social connections with other riders.

Our vision is to provide a non-corporatised atmosphere with no sales pitch or pressure, just old fashioned advice if you want or need it and a desire to enable you to dream about what bike you want or how to improve what you have. As we all know, one bike is never enough....
